Dates Set For Jornadas T he 28th annual Jornadas Internacionales , the South Cone’s premier cable TV trade show, is set to be held on September 25-27 at its now traditional venue, the Hilton Buenos Aires Hotel. Jointly organized by Argentina’s two main cable organizations, ATVC (for hardware and cable wiring) and CAPPSA (for cable TV channels), the event consists of a three-day conference and a two-day exhibition. Even though it will take place much later than last year’s event, this coming edition of the Jornadas or “days” (originally known as “Cable Days”), on September 19-21, will still leave plenty of time to prepare for MIPCOM (to be held in Cannes October 15-18), which is attended by a large LATAM TV content community, and the hardware-based NAB NewYork, scheduled for October 17-18. Turkey TV To Be Highlighted at MIP-TV T he next important appointment on the international TV industry’s calendar is MIP-TV. For the occasion, VideoAge is preparing a special report on Turkish TV content for its Day 3 Daily. More than 40 Turkish exhibition companies are expected at MIP-TV. Turkish TV content is enjoying a surge in popularity these days — especially in Latin American, Middle Eastern, and Eastern European territories — and said content has even made its way to Southeast Asia. As such, more than 20 Turkish TV companies exhibited at the recent Asia TV Forum market. VideoAge ’s MIP-TV Special Report will include new product listings, as well as photos of company executives taken on the floor.
