Throughout the years, she developed several projects with her grandfather. According to the Prague Daily Monitor , the cartoon figure is estimated to be worth up to 200 million crowns (U.S.$10million). More than 3,000 attendees visited the 55 stands and participated in 10 seminars at the Grimaldi Forum. The four-day event attracted TV sports executives from 78 countries and awarded several prizes, including The Golden Podium, which was handed out for excellence in six separate categories, includingBest Sports Commercial; and the Best Book Prize, which was given in two categories. Three Special Prizes were also presented. K rtek is a 60-year-old cartoon character developed in Prague that has been beloved in the former Soviet Bloc for decades. But ever since the death of its creator, Zdenek Miler, (pictured at right), who passed away in 2011 at 90 years of age, the question of who owns the rights to Krtek — his daughter, Barbora Milerova, or his granddaughter, Karolina Milerova — has been up in the air. Krtek is a silent rodent created as a harmless alternative to the then-banned Mickey Mouse. He made his first appearance in the movie How The Mole Got His Trousers , which was screened at the Venice Film Festival in 1957. At the moment, Krtek is marketed through Karolina’s company, Little Mole, which claims it owns all rights to the character. However, her mother, along with the administrator of Zdenek Miler’s estate, have disputed this, and the lower (Prague Municipal) court has agreed with them. The case now moves to a higher court for further reckoning.
