An exclusive Buyers Programme will showcase the new Global Upfronts, which will include market screenings and key conference sessions. In June, Reed MIDEM announced the Change for Good program, which will be highlighted through the MIPCOM Diversify TV Excellence Awards and the MIP SDG Award for Climate Change and Protection of the Oceans. MIPJunior will be held at the same time. It will move inside the Palais, and have a dedicated program and networking zone within the redesigned space. In addition, the third edition of the municipality-sponsored CanneSeries Festival will run concurrently. The digital portion, called MIPCOM Online Plus, will start October 5 and will continue until mid-November. From RAI Fiction to Netflixion A fter 25 year at RAI, Italy’s state broadcas- ter, and eight years as head of Drama Production, Eleonora “Tinny” Andreatta, has moved to Netflix as vice president of Italian Original Series. Andreatta (pictured below), who will replace Felipe Tewes, took the Rome-based position in July and reports to Kelly Luegenbiehl, vice president, Original Series EMEA. Tewes will assume a new role, which will be announced soon. The president of RAI, Fabrizio Salini, will take on the duties of Andreatta’s former post until a replacement is found. I n late July, MIPCOM organizer Reed MIDEM announced a new hybrid format for the fall market. Dubbed MIPCOM Rendezvous Cannes, the 36th edition of the flagship content market will take place as a streamlined three-day event, to be held from October 12-14, 2020. MIPCOM was originally scheduled to run until October 15. To assist those who are unable to attend in person, market organizers will work alongside MIPCOM Online Plus, the premium online service, so that remote industry professionals will be able to take online video meetings and access conferences. In response to ongoing health and safety guidelines, organizers have set a new floor plan to accommodate physical distancing. MIPCOM Rendezvous Cannes will continue to take place inside the Palais des Festivals, limited to the Ambassadeurs and Riviera halls. One of the more significant changes will be the removal of exhibition stands. Attendees and delegates will be able to plan for face-to-face meetings in open meeting spaces, at reserved tables, and in private lounges.
